Meditation
- Let the mind rest, allowing it to be calm.
- Look at the calm mind, can you find how it arises?
- How does the calm mind abide?
- Where does the calm mind go?
- Does the calm mind exist inside the body or outside the body?
- Can you truly find a location for the calm mind?
- Is the calm mind like space?
- Relax the looking at the mind. Let the mind rest.
- Again, look at the calm mind, what do you find?
- Do you find anything identifiable when you look at the calm mind?
- Relax the looking and let the mind rest.
After Meditation
- In what way is the calm mind like space?
- In what way is it not like space?
- Did you find you wanted to identify the calm mind with concepts?
- Do you find you want some way to be able to identify the calm mind?
- Can you find any characteristics or location for the calm mind?
- Are you able to find the calm mind?
- Can you find how the calm mind arises, abides, goes?
During the Day
Take the opportunity to look at the calm mind to develop the ability to recognize a calm mind.
Stabilize the ability to calm the mind with the ability to look directly at the calm mind.
