Meditation
- Rest in open awareness.
- Recognize the nature of mind and rest there.
- Looking closely at what might occur in meditation.
- Would you say by recognizing the nature of mind that it appears there is no thought?
- Do you find yourself saying that you can see the nature of the mind clearly?
- While resting in the recognition of mind’s nature do you have a glimpse of bliss?
- Can you recognize that no thought, clarity, and bliss are temporary experiences?
- Rest free of thinking about what is going on during this meditation by resting in open awareness.
- Rest in the not finding rather than looking for an experience.
- Rest the mind while familiarizing with the nature of mind not temporary experiences.
- Rest with stability and balance.
After Meditation
- Nonthought, clarity (the knowing quality) and bliss naturally arise in meditation, but it is important to not become attached to these experiences. Otherwise, you might place importance on them and be discouraged when they do not appear and happy when they do appear.
- Are you trying to replicate a desired experience?
- What do temporary experiences depend on?
- Is there a fixation on having meditative experiences?
- Is there a fixation on the self?
During the Day
Recognize how strong your fixation on a self is.
