Meditation
- Let the mind rest.
- Recognize calm mind and moving mind inseparable.
- Rest in this recognition.
- Rest in this recognition of the mind as it is.
- In this moment are you free of doubt that the nature of the mind can be pinpointed or said to be like this or that?
- Rest free from doing anything.
- Do you have a direct experience of the nature of mind, free of concepts?
- Rest free from doing.
- Rest free, if only for a moment, from manipulating, controlling, or fabricating your experience.
- Rest the mind in awareness of the nature of the mind.
- In this moment are you free from manipulating, controlling or fabricating experience?
- Rest the mind.
After Meditation
- Caution: do not develop a close mindedness that you don’t need to look anymore. If this was the case of not having to look, your meditation would be evident throughout the day.
- Contemplate the difference between an intellectual understanding and directly experiencing the nature of the mind. Were you able to rest free from manipulation, control, or fabrication?
- Did you rest free even for a moment from conceptual worldly thoughts.
- Thoughts continue, but are they an obstacle to resting the mind?
During the Day
Take the opportunity to rest free from being attached to an experience by looking directly at it and seeing it as insubstantial.
