Developing Capacity 6: Non-meditation

Verse 18

Look at objects and there is no object: one sees mind;
Look at mind and there is no mind: it is empty of nature;
Look at both of these and dualistic clinging subsides on its own.
May I know sheer clarity, the way mind is.

Meditation

  • Relax free of meditating on any object.
  • Rest in the nature of the mind.
  • Rest free of judging as good or bad anything that might arise.
  • Rest free of pushing a thought away or grabbing onto a thought.
  • No need to make space for something to be present.
  • Rest in awareness that is always present.

After Meditation

  • Was this meditation easy or difficult?
  • Was there any effort in being aware?

During the Day

Practice short moments throughout the day to stabilize familiarization.
Is this easy or difficult?
Do you find yourself forgetting to familiarize during the day?
